Amish Craftsmanship
The Amish builders start with a selection of only the finest hardwoods and hardware. Each piece is handcrafted with a quality of workmanship rarely found in furniture today.
Solid milled hardwoods are used throughout each of our pieces.- Proven construction methods are practiced by the Amish craftsmen to ensure endurance and beauty. This level of craftsmanship creates an heirloom-quality piece of furniture that will demonstrate its value through generations of use.
- Dovetail and mortise and tenon joints are utilized to produce superior strength in furniture design.
- All tables have solid one inch tops (or greater) and are fitted with solid steam-bent wood aprons.
- Drawer boxes are made of solid milled hardwoods.
Leg connections are constructed of v-grooved corner block assembly with bolt attachment.- All joints on chairs are screwed and glued to provide additional support at stress points.
- All leaves for tables are numbered and custom fit. The addition of leaf locks ensures a seamless table top. Many table designs have self leaf storage available.
- All pieces are hand-sanded, stained, finished and inspected by the Amish builders.
- All of the furniture is finished with Woodwright's catalyzed varnish to keep each piece looking like new for years to come. This finish has been extensively tested and has proven resistant to most household spills.
